Registration
When it’s time for you to register for classes, there are a few steps you need to follow:
- Look for an email from me via Navigate (it will have something like Spring 2026 Advising Appointment Campaign in the title or email). Click on the link in the email to be taken to an appointment page (remember to use Chrome or Firefox or a browser other than Safari).
- Sign up for an appointment at least a day or two before your registration window opens. However, don’t sign up so early that it’s weeks before your registration date. Classes go fast, so it’s best to try to time it a couple of days before so you’re actually choosing from classes that are available.
- Review your degree audit and select classes (first, second, and third choices) that you would like to take. Remember to note any requirements, like the no more than 5 200 levels, 2 400 levels, etc so you can choose accordingly.
- Write down any questions you have prior to the meeting. Sometimes we can sit down, start talking, and that list of four questions you thought up twenty minutes ago suddenly became two questions and you have no idea what the missing two questions were. If the questions are written down, and we run out of time, then you can hand/email me your list and I can send you an email with answers.
- Be on time for your advising meeting. With 50+ advisees to schedule and advise in a 2-3 week period (plus my other teaching duties), my schedule can get tight.
- Clear any holds you may have other than the term advisement hold (that I will clear for you after we meet). I cannot clear any hold besides the advising hold. All other holds need to be addressed with the appropriate entity (so, library fines go to the library, vaccine issues go to the health center, finance issues go to the cashier/bursar or financial aid, etc).
- Register for your classes when your window opens up.
- Let me know if you encounter any errors or hiccups. We’ll try to solve them together, or I’ll point you in the direction of who you need to talk to.
